If You'd Rather Do It Yourself...

You enjoy graphic design yourself, or are currently working with a design firm that you are happy with, BUT you want a quality product from a local firm; Downeast Graphics is here to provide you with that service. Be sure to call ahead of time if you have questions, and read our Tips and Tricks page. Here is what we need in order to provide you with that quality product hassle free:

•We can take files on 3-1/2" floppy disk, 100 mb. zip disk and CD, or by email. Please contact our Prepress Department before emailing files.

• We prefer to use files created from Mac or PC based QuarkXpress 4.1. We can also use files from Illustrator version 9 or lower, Photoshop version 5.5 or lower and PageMaker 6.5. When files other than Quark or Pagemaker are used, please call us first to see if we can convert your file or what options are available for you. Always call ahead of time to check if you have a question.

• We would like for you to use the following formats for imported graphics, logos or photos:

   TIFF
   EPS
   PDF (properly created)
   JPEG (high resolution only, please; no web images)

• Please see our Tips & Tricks page for further technical information on these formats, plus scanning and image converting tips.

• Please provide color files converted to CMYK; Pantone colors should be defined as CYMK if the job is going to the digital press. Please call the Art Department if you have questions about color.

• Remember to include all graphic files used in the job as well as your
screen and printer fonts. A printout of your project is also required.

• Please print out our Output Form and send it along when you send us your files. Remember to keep a copy for yourself!
