Downeast Graphics & Printing, Inc. was founded in 1974 by Charles Ferden to provide graphic
design and quality printing to businesses, organizations, and individuals along the coast of Maine
and beyond. Downeast Graphics & Printing, Inc. was one of the first printers in Maine to offer in-
house design services, and Downeast Graphics continues that tradition of innovation today.

After 50 years of growing his business and building relationships, Charlie is retiring, but his
legacy of supporting local businesses and organizations continues. The new local owners of
Downeast Graphics, invested in the Ellsworth community for more than 20 years, look forward to
working with individuals, businesses, towns, non-profits and other organizations to help them
achieve their goals.

While we continue to offer offset printing, our digital printing service allows you to order shorter
runs of your printed media so you can keep your marketing current and fresh at affordable

try out new marketing ideas without the expense of offset printing thousands of pieces that may
not be used. It also allows individuals, small organizations and start-up businesses to harness
